Schumacher: F1 legend's wife reveals devastating impact of ski crash
Wife opens up about 'painful' ordeal seven years after accident
Corinna Schumacher has opened up about how her Formula One legend husband is fighting back after a devastating ski crash seven years ago.
The racing great was placed in a medically induced coma after a horror accident in the French Alps in 2013 but has since returned home.
Corinna has offered the most positive update on her husband's condition since his accident in a new Netflix documentary.
Schumacher among the greatest ever
The German is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, winning a record seven world championships across a glittering career that spanned 21 years.
He last raced in 2012 before being involved in a horror accident while skiing with his son Mick the following year.
The incident left him in a coma for six months, and he has since been receiving rehabilitation treatment at his home in Switzerland.
Painful ordeal
In the Netflix documentary, aptly titled "Schumacher," Corinna spoke openly about the difficulties of dealing with her husband's situation.
"Of course, I miss Michael every day," she said.
"But it's not just me who misses him. The children, the family, his father, everyone around him. I mean, everybody misses Michael, but Michael is here. Different, but he's here, and that's what matters."
Keeping faith
Corinna also revealed that she believes Michael will one day recover.
"I don't know if he'll ever get to read again," she said.
"But maybe yes, maybe he will, and that's what we hope for. We're just waiting for him to wake up, that's all."
